Haiti 4 Bermuda 0
Bermuda’s Under 17 Women’s National Team went into their Final Group match against the host Haiti knowing a win and they advance to the next stage, but in the end Haiti was to strong winning 4 – 0.
Bermuda found themselves down 1 – 0 after some 15 minutes when defensive mix up between defender and keeper allowed a Haitian striker with the simple task of tapping ball in empty net.
The second goal was a wonder strike which left the Bermuda goalkeeper Micah Pond with no chance, while the third goal was off a corner minutes before the break.
Bermuda played much better in second half and was often the better team. Despite the possession Bermuda did not create many chances. Danni Watson and LeiLanni Nesbeth came closest to scoring, but it was Haiti who would score again from a break away.
Bermuda now must wait on Trinidad’s group, the group has not started yet. With a Goal Difference of +1 Bermuda have to wait to see if they have the best second place team record between the two groups.
