The Bermuda Football Association announced Bermuda will participate in the FIFA World Cup 2018 Qualifiers during the FIFA International match window in March of 2015.
Bermuda has been placed in Pot H with St Kitts and Nevis, Belize, Dominica, Montserrat, Barbados and Nicaragua. The teams in Pot H will be drawn against teams in Pot I, Turks and Caicos Curacao, US Virgin Islands, British Virgin Islands, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, and Anguilla.
The team will be lead by experienced coaches Andrew Bascome and Dennis Brown. John Barry Nusum will also join the staff as Assistant Coach. The Technical Department has taken a long-term view of the Senior team and anticipates a youthful under 25 team to be assembled that will compete in the next three FIFA tournaments; FIFA World Cup 2018, Caribbean Cup 2016, and FIFA World Cup 2022. We anticipate a formal training squad to be announced in January 2015.
The coaches have been able to evaluate the locally based players over the course of the first half of the domestic season. Additionally over the Christmas period there will be a series of trial matches that will take advantage of overseas based players being at home.
The following players have been invited to participate in the matches on December 29th and 30th.
