NAHKI WELLS

Nahki Wells’ Huddersfield extended their unbeaten run to five matches following a 1-1 draw with Brighton at the John Smith's Stadium.

Wells for the second game in a row was an un-used substitute.

Town have enjoyed a recent upturn in form, their last defeat coming in the West Yorkshire derby against Leeds in September, but could not hold out against Sami Hyypia's struggling side.

Jacob Butterfield gave the hosts an early lead, but Brighton defender Lewis Dunk levelled shortly before the break.

Brighton finished the game with 10 men following Kazenga Lua Lua's injury-time red card.

Huddersfield boss Chris Powell opted to name an unchanged line-up following Saturday's 4-2 home win over Blackpool.

Town got off to an ideal start when they took the lead after just 10 minutes.

Sean Scannell showed some neat touches down the right before playing in Tommy Smith to pick out Butterfield, who lashed the ball home from close range with a little help from the underside of the bar.

But Brighton did manage to pull themselves level on 38 minutes.

Dunk thumped home his fifth goal of the season, again with a touch off the woodwork, after the Huddersfield defense failed to clear Jake Forster-Caskey's initial corner.

Lua Lua's injury-time dismissal for a second bookable offence summed up another frustrating evening for Hyypia's side, who remained without a league win in their last nine outing.

REGGIE LAMBE

Tranmere were held to a 0-0 draw by Reggie Lambe’s Mansfield in Micky Adams' first game in charge at Prenton Park.

Lambe entered the game in the 84th minute for Alex Fisher.

It sees Rovers remain in League Two's relegation zone after Jake Kirby's second-half effort proved the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock.

Max Power's free-kick created the first real opening for Tranmere, but Armand Gnanduillet failed to connect properly with a header at the back post.

And in a first half of few chances Tranmere goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams' only action was to scramble a weak Marcus Holness back-pass clear, while Danny Johnson fired over a free-kick before half time.

Mansfield were forced to withstand heavy pressure and a bombardment of corners after the break.

And midway through the second half Marc Laird played a delightful chip over the Mansfield defense, for Kirby to sting the palms of Sascha Studer with the night's first shot on target.

However Tranmere failed to make the most of their pressure, while Mansfield striker Alex Fisher was forced off late on after a clash of heads.
