Steve Coppell is in Bermuda taking part in the Hackers Golf Tournament, he spent a few minutes talking to www.islandstats.com about his career and the current state of English Premier Division.
Coppell won domestic honors with Manchester United and represented England at the World Cup. After a knee injury ended his playing career, he went into management.
He has managed Bristol City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City, Brentford and most notably Crystal Palace and Reading, with both whom he took from struggling towards the foot of the English second tier to both club's greatest ever successes in the league. He is also credited with discovering players such as Ian Wright, a striker he signed from non-league football who became a household name and international footballer.
