Adam Hall and his Delmarva Shorebirds teammates did themselves in with three errors in a 4-3 loss to the Greensboro Grasshoppers on Saturday night at First National Bank Field.
Delmarva drew first blood in the first inning. Edison Lantigua led off with a double, then Hall grounded him to third, and Doran Turchin brought him home with a sac fly to center, making it 1-0 Shorebirds.
In the top of the seventh and down 4 - 2, Nick Horvath led off with a single and took second on a Will Gardner wild pitch. After a flyout and groundout, Hall found the open space in right for a single, plating Horvath to make it a one-run game at 4-3. With Turchin up, Hall took off running to try and steal second, but Koch's throw to get him got there just in time, keeping the Grasshopper lead intact.
Delmarva wouldn't get another baserunner, Hallrecorded yet another RBI for the Shorebirds.
