Tyler Smith and her Jackson State Women’s Tennis teammates opened its home slate of matches against Louisiana Monroe at the JSU Tennis Complex. Jackson State fell 6-1, but head coach Gabrielle Moore saw continued improvement in her team.
“Team played exceptionally well today,” said Moore. Despite a few bumps in the road we’ve had from the beginning of season, I’ve seen improvement in every match thus far.”
In doubles action, Jackson States duo of Smith and Lucia Solis won 6-1 at No. 1 Doubles. Smith picked up JSU’s lone win in Singles action as she defeated Teodora Radu 6-4, 6-7, 10-5 at the No. 1 position.
“Tyler got her second win of the season today,” said Moore. “I look forward to seeing a lot more of the energy and fight like I did today, this weekend.”
