www.islandstats.com continues taking a look at the Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association’s Tennis Ladder Tournament.
Don’t be confused with the current Bermuda Lawn Tennis Association Rankings, the Ladder Tournament is a Tournament in its self that sees players in different groups challenge each other in a bid to move up a group.
Only one match took place in Group 1, with David Thomas defeating Jenson Bascome 6-3, 6-3.
Group Two saw Sam Butler defeat Romar Douglas in a three setter 4-6, 6-4, 10-8.
Three matches were completed in Group 4, with Michael Lindsay-Bayley defeating Andrew Bonner 6-3, 6-3, Bonner would defeat Damien Smith 3-6, 6-2, 10-5 and Lindsay-Bayley defeated Smith 6-4, 6-3.
Peter Seely won his Group 6 match against Chris Smith in three sets 0-6, 6-4, 10-8.
While two matches were completed in Group 7, Charmaine Thomas defeated Peter Ryan 0-6, 6-4, 12-10, while Paul York defeated Thomas 0-6, 6-3, 10-5.
Group 8 had four completed matches with Curtis Williams defeating Ryan Perry 0-6, 6-0, 10-6 and then Hugh Seymour ran off three consecutive victories. Seymour defeated Williams 6-1, 6-2, he then defeated Akhil Kapur 6-0, 6-1 before closing out with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Perry.
Peter Robey defeated Kim Burns 6-2, 6-4 I their Group 9 Division match, Jahzuena Bradshaw-Douglas defeated Burns 5-7, 7-6, 10-4 and Robey defeated Bradshaw-Douglas 6-1, 6-3.
Three matches were completed in Group 10 with Natasha Butterfield defeating Jennifer Trian 6-4, 6-1, Kietny Chrun defeated Trian 6-2, 6-0 and then Chrun defeated Butterfield 6-0, 6-0.
Amir Thomas won his Group 11 match in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 over Victoria Stephens, while Lindsay Fisher defeated Genie Trott 6-0, 6-0 in their Group 12 match.
