Five Days have been completed in the Annual International Tennis Federation (ITF) & COTECC (Central American and Caribbean Tennis Confederation) Bermuda International Junior Tennis Tournament going on at the WER Joell Tennis Stadium.
In early morning place, Girls 18 Singles number eight seed Rachel Bercovitch from Canada had to resume her match that rain halted on Day Four against American Elizabeth Baker, the match was at 5-5 in the third set, but Bercovitch was able to win the two matches to take the set 7-5, having being down 5-2 the night before.
The Girls 18 Singles number three seed Alexandre Tutecky from Canada went out of the tournament in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 to MacKenzie Clark from the USA.
The number one seed Alana Smith defeated fellow American Margaret Owensby in straight sets 6-2, 6-0.
In Girls Doubles, the team of Kaylah Ming from Bermuda and American Smith went down 2-6, 7-6, 10-4 to Mexican pair Romary Cardenas Rifka and Aida Garcia Mendez.
Cesar Cernuda Alonso from Spain and Mexico’s Patricio Hernandez-Pons defeated Bermuda’s Richard Mallory and his partner from the Bahamas O'Neal Mortimer 7-5, 3-6, 10-8.
Bermuda’s Luke Stirling lives to fight another day after he and his Doubles partner Michael Robinson from Canada defeated Russell Armstrong from the US Virgin Islands and Bermuda’s Dylan Powell in straight sets 7-5, 7-6.
