West Pembroke Primary defeated Harrington Sound Primary in a thrilling final during the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s Primary School Boys Super 8’s Cricket Tournament at the National Sports Center.
West Pembroke batted first and scored 65 runs led by Tevez smith with 23 runs, while Adio Tankard Deshield chipped in with 12. Harrington Sound started the overs slowly but soon picked up the pace to make the final over a tense affair. Michael DeSilva blasted three boundaries with the final three balls but it wasn't enough as they only reached 62 in their six overs. Zeri Tomlinson scored 20 for Harrington Sound while Isaiah O’Brien and DeSilva added 15 each.
West Pembroke defeated East End Primary in the Semi-Final. East End batted first and scored 51 in their six overs. Kriston Adams scored 23 for the East Enders, while West Pembroke reached their target with an over and a half to spare.
Harrington Sound also comfortably won their Semi-Final with a win over West End Primary. Nijan Thomas led West End with 23 as they scored 56 in the allotted overs. Harrington Sound reached their target midway through the fifth over in scoring 59. Tomlinson again led the team with 22, while O’Brien added 15.
