BSSF Senior & Middle School Girls Super 8's

Saltus Grammar School won the Inaugural Bermuda School Sports Federations Senior School Girls Super 8s Cricket Tournament at the National Sports Center after easily defeating all opposition including Berkeley Green by 43 runs in the Final.

Saltus scored a daunting 96 runs in the Final in their allotted seven overs over the young Berkeley side. Saltus were led in the Final by the tournaments top scorer Noah Autmezguine who scored 31 before being forced to retire after scoring the individual maximum of 30 runs. Selah Tuzo also reached 30 runs for Saltus. The Berkeley run rate was never high enough to challenge the Saltus total and only managed to score 56 in their allotted overs. Ryley Simmons led Berkeley with 30 while Geanette Bean added 28

Saltus defeated Berkeley Gold in their Semi-Final, Berkeley batted first scoring 46 in seven overs. Makayla Achadina scored 15 while Dazarre Place added 13 for Berkeley. Autmezguine led the Saltus attack finishing the match midway through the fourth over with a towering six. She finished with 30 while Jade Johnston added 15 not out. Berkeley Green defeated CedarBridge Academy in the other Semi-Final. CedarBridge batted first and scored 56 led by Shayna Simmons with ten runs. Berkeley crossed their target with 11 balls to spare. Bean led Berkeley with 24 runs with Chanz Godwin adding 16.

The Whitney Institute won all four of their matches in winning the Middle School Girls Title. Whitney defeated Sandys’ Secondary Middle School in a low scoring Final. Whitney won the toss and sent Sandys into bat, Sandys scored 49 runs in their allotted overs with Amara Richards leading her team with 11 runs. Whitney were held early in their overs by some tight economical bowling. They managed to surge and find a breakthrough late behind Jahni Simmons with 6 runs.

Whitney defeated Warwick Academy in their Semi-Final, Warwick were sent into bat and scored 62 runs. Whitney crossed the total with five balls remaining. Simmons again led her team with 15 runs while Catherine Bean added 11. Sandys’ defeated Dellwood in the other Semi-Final. Vaneesa Daley led the charge for Sandy’s with 21 runs. Dellwood were led by Tehkala Lambert led Dellwood with 18.
