Emmerson Carrington has been named to the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires.
Carrington who was earlier this year selected to the International Cricket Council (ICC) Americas Regional Umpires’ Panel along with four other umpires from Bermuda.
This 37 person panel that includes Carrington comes underneath the Emirates International Panel of ICC Umpires.
President of the Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB), Lloyd Smith said, “On behalf of the BCB, I am pleased to congratulate Carrington who has been selected to the International Panel of ICC Development Umpires. The International Panel of ICC Development Umpires is intended to offer a career path into the Elite Panel of ICC Umpires. Carrington’s selection reflects his long-standing experience as both a local and international official. I am confident Carrington will represent Bermuda well on this panel and hope that this appointment will open doors for more of our local umpires.”
President of the Bermuda Cricket Umpires Association (BCUA) Steven Douglas stated, “On behalf of the Executive's and Members we would like to congratulate Carrington on being the second Bermuda umpire to be selected to this panel. We wish him well in his future assignments.”
