Bermudian Marcus Scotland has been selected by Surrey in the England Cricket Board Under 15 County Cup featuring the Major and Minor Counties in England and Wales.
Surrey’s group comprises Middlesex, Essex, Kent and Suffolk in a home and away league with the top two sides advancing to the national quarterfinals.
This year’s 50-over white ball competition begins on Sunday with a home game against Suffolk at the London School of Economics (LSE) Sports Ground in South London.
Scotland has represented the Surrey Age Groups since 2016 as an opening batsman with the Under 13s. Last year as an under 14 he made the highest individual score of 174* against Cambridgeshire and was one of Bermuda’s youngest players at last summer’s ICC Americas Under 19 World Cup Qualifier in Toronto.
On June 4th, Scotland will represent London Schools against Surrey Schools at The Oval to contest the Hobbs Trophy that pits the best Under 15 players attending state (free) schoolas.
The event has been played annually at the world famous ground in London for over fifty years.
