Delray Rawlins’ teammate Luke Wells produced an impressive all-round performance as Sussex got their Royal London One-Day Cup campaign off to a winning start against Kent at Hove.
Rawlins was selected as a reserve for the Sussex team.
Kent won the toss and elected to bat they would score 188 all out after 43.3 overs, Daniel Bell-Drummond was their top scorer with 90, while Danny Briggs was the pick of the Sussex bowlers with figures of 10-1-23-3 and Oliver Robinson bowled 7-1-31-3.
Wells anchored Sussex's response with 62 from 89 balls before skipper Ben Brown made an unbeaten 73 to lead his side to a seven-wicket win with 10.1 overs to spare, only their fifth in the competition since 2015.
