Secret or policy? That is the question surrounding the Bermuda Cricket Board this evening.
The deadline for nominees for the President of the Bermuda Cricket Board was yesterday November 15th at 5pm, a phone call today November 16th to the Cricket Board to ask who officially had their names put forth went unanswered.
In one conversation, www.islandstats.com was told today, that permission to release the information will be looked into as it may not be a policy to do so, but with an election in a few weeks and public funds used for regular operation, why would the names of those who have been nominated not be released.
www.islandstats.com has unofficially learned of two people who names have possibly been put forward being Lloyd Smith and current BCB Treasurer Gershon Gibbons, but again there is no confirmation from the board.
A story appeared a few weeks ago about a former cricketer who was approached by a reporter who suggested he run for the position of President and then the reporter wrote the story himself, but we have not heard if that person’s name was even put forward.
