Sussex Second Trial by 123 Runs
On the second morning of their three day match Delray Rawlins and his Sussex Seconds teammates added 60 runs to their overnight total to close the gap to 158 against Essex. Rawlins added five runs to his overnight score of 23, he was out for 28 falling with the score on 103, Sussex reached the luncheon interval with the score one 139/3. Sussex Seconds were bowled out for 306 a lead of 9 runs, M Burgess was the top scorer with 75, while H Finch added 68.
The day for Essex then turned on it’s head as they were at the close of play 132 ahead with only one wicket standing, they are in their second inning at 132/9, A patel who scored a century in the first inning is at the wicket 32 not out, while the number 10 bat I Sohi was out for 49, the pair put on a 83 run 9th wicket partnership. O Robinson tore through the Essex batsmen to end the day with figures of 11-2-37-5. Rawlins held onto three catches in the inning thus far and has bowling figures of 4-2-4-0.
