Bermuda Opponents Announce New Skippers

Two teams that Bermuda’s National Cricket will face later this month have named new captains.

Bermuda’s first opponents Cricket Canada announced the appointment of Nitish Kumar as its new captain of the Senior Men’s National team. Kumar is the youngest player ever to debut for Canada at both First Class and ODI. In August 2009 at age 15 Kumar made his First Class debut against Kenya and a few months later at the age 15 years 273 days became the second youngest ODI player ever.

Meanwhile Bermuda’s World Cricket League Division Four opponents USA have named Steven Taylor, the left-handed opening batsman captain at the Auty Cup and the World Cricket League Division Four, which starts on October 29th in Los Angeles.

It was announced that Canada will travel to Bermuda for a Three Match Tour, they took on USA in the Auty Cup and came away with a 34 run victory in Game One.

Taylor won the toss and sent Canada to bat, the scored 239/8 in their allotted 50 overs, Srimantha Wijeyeratne was their top scorer with 66, while captain Kumar added 60. USA captain Taylor returned figures of 10-0-47-5.

In reply USA were bowled out for 205, Fahad Babar was their top scorer with 63, while Cecil Pervez was the pick of the Canada bowlers with figures of 10-2-38-3.
