BCB Have Bigger Problems than Cup Match & County

IslandStats.com
Issues surrounding the 2016 Bermuda Cricket Board Season continue, but instead of laying the questions at the feet of the Bermuda Cricket Board, reports in collaboration take attention away from the fact that the Bermuda Cricket Board have failed to address their own issues.

Still not addressed is the fact that two seasons ago the season ended with the Lindo’s Twenty20 not being played due to an off field incident.

Last season the onfield incidents increased, with matches stopped for several reasons, including one team showing up with one ball, players leaving the field involved in a brawl with spectators, there was the issue involving Eastern County match between champions Cleveland County and Bailey’s Bay and of course the season ended with the incident that was filmed by www.islandstats.com that went global during the Champions of Champions Final.

There were issues with the last youth tournament in Bermuda with hotel mix ups for Bermuda, also Bermuda was the only team not to have a traveling kit or shirts to wear for opening and closing ceremonies.

Questions of what has been done or have these issues been address to club officials have been met with the response of NO!

So we entered the 2016 Season which has seen matches canceled for lack of umpires, teams not showing up for matches, players suspended for several different issues.

On the International scene Bermuda’s players have been ignored by the ICC Americas, while they shower the USA with funding and matches as they prepare for Division 4. But that’s the agenda for the board and their press partners to put the blame on the players and not the failure by administrators to ensure that the players have the same opportunities afforded to them as their opponents.

Nothing said when not one Bermuda player was selected to represent the ICC Americas that played in the West Indies Cricket Board NAGICO Super50 in January and now the two Bermuda players taking part in the ICC Americas Under 19 team playing in the West Indies Cricket Board’s Under 19 Regional One Day Tournament by all accounts are being treated unfairly.
