The Premier, the Hon. Michael Dunkley hosted the traditional Pre Cup Match reception for this year’s chosen Somerset Cricket Club and St. George’s Cricket Club Cup Match teams on the Camden Lawn.
The Annual Cup Match Classic is set to get underway on Thursday July 29th at the Somerset Cricket Club.
Also present was former Cup Match players from both St. George’s Cricket Club and the Somerset Cricket Club.
The Lawn was decorated in the two team’s colors, with the Premier wishing both teams well for the Two Day Classic.
“I on behalf of the Government and the people of Bermuda, would like to commend you the players for being upstanding rolemodels and I want to wish you all the best,” said the Premier.
Somerset Cricket Club President Alfred Maybury said, “I am just hoping for another exciting Cup Match Classic as we did last year.”
“I want everyone to know that the Somerset Cricket Club is ready, I have already told my team my expectations and we all have an understanding,” said Maybury
President of the St. George’s Cricket Club Neil Paynter informed all in attendance, “Change is in the air, starting with this evening everything has changed and it feels good.”
“I want everyone to come to the Somerset Cricket Club and be prepared for two entertaining days of cricket,” continued Paynter.
