East are Under 14 Champions & BCB Inter-squad Round Up

The East were crowned the 2016 Bank of Bermuda Foundation Under 14 All-Star Champions at the National Sports Center.

Batting first the East scored 158 in 28.3 overs, with Nirobi Mills from Bailey’s Bay named the MVP, Mills scored 19 runs and claimed 4 wickets for 16 runs.

In reply the West could only manage 136, with Somerset Cricket Club’s Thai Cariah voted the teams MVP with 6 runs and 3 wickets for 11 runs.

Dyni Thomas had the play of the game for the East with a run out direct hit from mid-on, while Jermel Proctor was the West player voted with the Play of the game with 2 straight wickets.

Meanwhile The Bermuda Blue team defeated the Bermuda Red team at Lord’s in St. David’s as the Bermuda National Squad hold their second inter-squad match.

Batting first the Red team were bowled out for 108, Macai Simmons was the top scorer with 34 not out, Simmons’ runs came off 24 balls, he hit four 4’s and 1 six, Alex Dore was the next highest scorer with 29 and Temiko Wilson added 24. Cameron Jeffers was the pick of the Blue Team bowlers returning figures of 6.5-0-34-3, Micah Simons bowled 7-0-21-2.

In reply the Blue team scored 110/3, Chris Douglas was the top scorer with 53 not out, Dion Stovell added 16 not out, while Sinclair Smith was run out for 12. Charles Trott returned figures of 7-2-18-1, while Joshua Gilbert 6-0-30-1.
