IslandStats.com
Inclement weather prevented the Bermuda Cricket Board Twenty20 Finals to be played on Saturday thus allowing just 3 Premier Division games to be played on Sunday, www.islandstats.com brings you the top performers with both bat and ball for the matches.
The weekend’s top scorer was Fiqre Crockwell with a knock of 80 for St. David’s Cricket Club against Cleveland County at Lord’s in St. David’s, Rodney Trott scored 71 runs for Bailey’s Bay in their match against the Southampton Rangers and Treadwell Gibbons from Western Stars scored 54 runs in his team’s 53 run victory over Willow Cuts.
However the talking point of the match was when Gibbons was ruled not out after hitting his wicket. The incident came during Dean Stephens’ third over, the left-handed batsman Gibbons swung at a delivery outside the off stick and as the video shows Gibbons’ bat comes into contact with the leg stump removing the bails, with Stephens and Willow Cuts wicketkeeper appealing. The umpires came together to discuss the incident and ruled gibbons not out, however the video would show that both missed the call.
In the Bowling Department, with figures of 5.0-0-17-4, Dean Stephens from the Willow Cuts returned the best figures of the weekend, Dennis Musson Jr. from the Cleveland County had the second best figures bowling of 10-1-48-4 and with figures of 5.0-1-09-3 Brian Hall from Western Stars had the third best figures.
