The Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) and Chivas Regal, the leader in quality blended scotch, announced the winner of the weekly Chivas Cricket Sportsman Award (CCSA) for week 6 is Ray Butterfield of Western Stars SC.
Butterfield has served as the curator for St. John’s Field for many years and has an outstanding reputation for producing good quality cricket surfaces. In addition to preparing pitches for the Western Stars team he also ensures that the Bermuda Cricket Board National Under 18 team has excellent facilities when they play at St. John’s in the Logic 50 overs league and also in the T20 Evening League.
On Monday August 3rd the host field for the Under 14 Summer All-Star match proved unfit for play, Butterfield and Western Stars management, agreed to host the game at St. John’s to avoid disappointing the 28 young men.
For his extraordinary dedication and commitment to both senior and youth cricket, Ray Butterfield has been selected as the Chivas Sportsman of the week, making the Chivas presentation was Chelsea Todd, Goslings Marketing Representative.
