Delray Rawlins and Kamau Leverock both missed the Cup Match Classic to continue their dreams of obtaining a full contract with a English County Team, they were both in action and both went down.
Rawlins and his Sussex’s Second Eleven teammates were defeated by Middlesex on the final day of their three-day Championship match at Richmond CC, despite a second century of the week from Ashar Zaidi.
Rawlins and his teammates won toss and decided to bat, they were bowled out for 177, with Rawlins batting at number eight out for 14 from 46 deliveries hitting 1 four.
Middlesex were bowled out for 328, with Rawlins returning figures of 2-0-13-0.
In the second inning Rawlins and his teammates were bowled out for 256, Rawlins could only manage 1 run from 13 deliveries.
Middlesex only needed 105 to win scoring the required runs losing three wickets along the way. Rawlins took a catch and bowled 1.1-0-5-0.
Leverock and his Newport Cricket Club teammates went down by 98 runs in their South Wales Premier Division One 1st XI match against Cardiff Cricket Club.
Leverock’s Newport won the toss and elected to field, Cardiff scored 236/9 in their allotted 50 overs, Leverock finished with figures of 10-2-40-4, he almost picked up his second hat-trick in two weeks, when he first bowled David Kirtley, he then bowled Harry Bowles with his next delivery before watching Kiran Carlson defend a Yorker well.
In reply Newport were bowled out for 138, Leverock opened the batting and was the top scorer with 51 off 41 deliveries, he hit 2 fours and 5 sixes in his stay at the crease.
