Acting Premier & Minister for Sport Host Cup Match Teams

Acting Premier Bob Richards and the Minister of Community, Culture and Sport, Patricia Gordon Pamplin hosted a Cup Match reception at Camden.

Players and officials from both teams were on hand to here from the dignitaries and get inspiration, the reception was to be hosted by the Premier, however he was on the delayed British Airways flight out of London.

Cup Holders Captain Jekon Edness who earlier this week announced this will be his last year as Captain said, “We are going to St. George’s to play to the best of our ability and if we do that everything else should fall into place.”

Commenting on this being his last year as captain Edness said, “I remember the first one, we were bowled out for 96 in the first inning and I said to myself, what have I gotten myself into, but I am glad I went through it and I am hoping that my last can be a victory as well.”

St. George’s Captain OJ Pitcher said, “I am very happy with the team considering, we was forced to make changes, I will be honest, not picking a spinner is a bit of a concern but we are not stressing over it we will go with what we have.”
