Now that the Test Match at the St. Georges Park in South Africa, between South Africa and the West Indies is over we asked Saleem Mukuddem the St. Georges Park Acting CEO to reflect on the experience.
Mukiddem said, “It was quite an interesting learning experience. The commercial aspects are challenging especially given the weather we had. Interacting with the players and coaching staff of South Africa were the highlights.”
Mukuddem went on to say, “Getting to chat to West Indians I met whilst playing for Bermuda was also a highlight.”
“There's a lot that goes into housing a test match but it's not ticket science. In my temporary Acting CEO role I get to use my professional qualification and my love and understanding of the beautiful game to try and revitalize cricket admin in the region”, continued Mukuddem.
“I had great staff who have done this all before. My job was the easiest. There were loads of unexpected issues but my focus was on giving the cricket fans an enjoyable and safe experience”, concluded Mukuddem.
