PHC has responded to the release sent out yesterday after 5pm by the Bermuda Cricket Board.
In a statement the PHC responded by saying, “For clarity …………….. We didn’t forfeit the match because of lack of players. We advised the Bermuda Cricket Boad that the Club was unable to field a team because the cricket team had players who played football and went school with Shijuan Mungal and were planning to attend his funeral.
As well the rest of the players felt it was best in his honor that we attend the funeral as he once played Under 11 & Under 14 cricket for PHC. We didn’t forfeit because of lack of players in regards that we weren’t unable to field a team, players wanted to go to the funeral.”
