Southampton Rangers according to the rules should be awarded the points for the Premier Division match against the Somerset Cricket Club, this after www.islandstats.com learned last night that the Somerset Cricket Club contacted the Southampton Rangers early in the morning to inform them that the wicket was not covered.
According to the Bermuda Cricket Board rules if the home team fails to have the wicket prepared for play they shall forfeit the points for the match.
Southampton Rangers if the decision is upheld will receive 13 points closing the gap on St. David’s Cricket Club to 8 points.
St. David’s Cricket Club have 96 points, if the awarded the points Southampton Rangers will have 88.
