Cheques Presented for 2014 BELCO Cup

With no Print media Present, the Bermuda Electric Light Company Limited (BELCO) and the Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) presented cheques to the participants of the twelfth annual BELCO Cup which saw St. David’s Cricket Club claim the title.

BELCO Chief Operating Officer, Denton Williams congratulated the Champions for their inaugural victory in this years BELCO Cup Final. St. David’s Cricket Club, BELCO Cup Final host, won the Cup after defeating Willow Cuts in the Final match.

George O’Brien was named the Man of the Match for his bowling figures of 10-3-47-4, he also scored 44 runs during the St. David’s Cricket Club’s successful run chase.

Prize Cheques wee present to the following:

St. David’s Cricket Club - $1,500.00
Willow Cuts - $1,000.00
Cleveland County and Southampton Rangers - $500.00
George O’Brien – Man of the Match - $300.00

The Bermuda Cricket Board’s National Youth Academy was chosen as the charity recipient to benefit from the gate proceeds of the final this year. The National Youth Academy provides Bermuda’s talented young cricket players with a comprehensive programme to develop their skills while also providing them with the tools they need to become well-rounded members of the community. As a result, BELCO presented a cheque for $2,500.50 to the Bermuda Cricket Board for their National Youth Academy.

As Cup sponsor, BELCO also presented a cheque for $3000.00 to the Bermuda Cricket Board.
