The International Cricket Council (ICC) confirmed teams that will participate in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCL) Division 3, which will be staged later this year.
The WCL Division 3 will be held in the last quarter of the year and six sides will participate in the tournament whose venue and dates will be announced in due course. The four confirmed sides are Bermuda, Nepal, Uganda and the United States of America (USA). These sides will be joined by the top two sides from the WCL Division 4, which will be staged in Singapore next month, thus, completing the six-team line-up.
The top two sides from the WCL Division 3 will be promoted to WCL Division 2 and will join Canada, Kenya, Namibia and Netherlands for the event which is expected to be staged in the first half of 2015.
The WCL Division 2 will be a qualifier for the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League (WCLC) and ICC Intercontinental Cup 2015-2017. The event format, fixtures and other details of the WCLC and ICC Intercontinental Cup will be announced in due course.
Under 11 Cricket
Western Stars defeated the PHC Blacks by 65 runs, Western Stars scored 118/5 in their allotted 15 overs, Trejon Jefferies scored 23 retired, while Nasayde Trott, Jamuri Manders and Javed Sutton all scored 20 retired. Marco Basden was the pick of the PHC Blacks bowlers with figures of 2-0-16-3.
In reply the PHC Blacks were bowled all out for 53, J’Kai Berkeley was the top scorer with 18, while Shane Robinson was the only other batsman in double figures with a knock of 13. Charles Simmons was the pick of the Western Stars bowlers with figures of 2-0-6-2.
