Nahki Wells is convinced his barren spell will end with yet another goal against Northampton. Bradford City’s leading marksman last hit the net with a free-kick at Fleetwood – three weeks before Wembley.
But the third-placed Northampton have provided rich pickings for the Bermudian with five goals in four previous encounters, including a hat-trick last April.
And he sees them as the perfect opposition to boost his tally from 18 for the first time since February 2.
Wells said: “It feels like last year when I last scored. It’s been a long, long time.
“But goals come with good performances and as long as I play well at the weekend I’ve no doubt I can score against Northampton – I’ve done it before.
“I’ve scored in three out of four games against them and I won’t be surprised if I step up and do it again. You feel like it will happen.

Kevin Wilson today paid tribute to his Ilkeston FC players for the "fantastic" effort they have out into claiming seven points from a possible nine in the space of just six days this week.
But now the manager is calling on them to respond again to tomorrow's formidable challenge when League leaders North Ferriby United come to the New Manor Ground.
Buxton were presented with a goal after 14 minutes. Chris Martin was caught stranded on the edge of the area and Lee Morris was left with the simple task of lofting the ball into an empty net.
But although Morris might have done better soon afterwards with a header that Martin saved, most of the action from then on was at the Buxton end, where goalkeeper Ian Deakin emerged as their star.
He twice denied James Reid before the break but after 48 minutes, by which time Buxton had replaced both strikers, the former Telford midfielder had the last laugh.
Gary Ricketts twice headed against the bar in the same move and when the ball eventually fell to Reid, he bundled in the equalizer.
Wilson sent on Bermuda international Antwan Russell for the final 25 minutes for his first taste of action in this country but although Ricketts forced a brilliant save from Deakin and the Robins pressed hard for the winner, it was not to be.
On Russell's introduction to the Ilkeston FC ranks, Wilson added: "He didn't have much chance to make an impact but it's early days. He's only been in the country a few days and is still bedding in. It's all a bit strange for him and he's going to need plenty of help and guidance. We can give him that."
