Reggie Lambe’s Ipswich Town start preparing for 2010/11 in earnest later this week with the draw for the first round of the Carling Cup on Wednesday and the release of the league fixtures on Thursday.
Lambe signed a one year contract extension at the end of last season. The Carling Cup draw will be held at 9.30am on Wednesday with the Blues amongst the seeded clubs in the southern section. The regional nature of the draw doesn’t mean that there isn’t the possibility of a long trip, with Town having been given a visit to Shrewsbury at this stage a year ago.
Burnley and Hull City, as the clubs involved in round one highest placed in last year’s league tables, have been handed a bye to round two.
