Two Nights, Four games, 50 goals scored and they have only just begun is the words from ISL Commissioner David Bascome as he spoke to www.islandstats.com reflecting on the opening weekend of games in the 4th season.
Both nights saw Twenty-Five goals, plenty of excitement, something Bascome said the fans left the National Sports Center wanting more.
“I know the fans that have seen the two nights will definitely be back to see more, the players have indeed put on a show, I could not be more pleased”, said Bascome.
“Six hat-tricks, while seven other players have scored twice, what more can I say, people that talk about they go to games and neither team are shooting, well I can tell you that a total of 207 shots were taken, with the goalkeepers making 76 saves”, continued Bascome.
“We had two game decided by the sudden-death over-time rule giving those in attendance plenty to cheer about, I am just excited and looking forward to Thursday night when the players take to the field again”, concluded Bascome.
