Veteran forward John Wolyniec converted a pair of rebounds – sandwiched around a Sinisa Ubiparipovic blast from outside the box – to lead the New York Red Bulls to a 3-0 win over Khano Smith and the New England Revolution in a U.S. Open Cup play-in match at Red Bull Arena.
The injury-riddled Revs traveled with just 14 players for the match – including a pair of goalkeepers – leaving just two field players Sainey Nyassi and Smith as available substitutes at the start of the game.
Smith entered the game in the 60th minute with the Revolution already down 2 - 0, two minutes later it was 3 - 0.
