With the Bermuda Football Season now over it is time to reflect on the winners and top performers for the 2009/10 Season.
We will start with the Under 14 Division, where the Somerset Trojans went undefeated, winning all ten of their league games scoring 62 goals on their way to the League and Knock-Out Cup double. The PHC Zebras finished second seven points behind the league winners.
In the Under 16 Division, the Somerset Eagles won ten of their twelve games as they won the league title, PHC Zebras finished second having won seven games during the season, however the Devonshire Cougars won the Knock-Out Final in a seven goal thriller over the North Village Rams.
Shuntae Todd scored 35 League goals to help the Lady Rams win the League, with Lady Cougars finishing in second place. The Lady Rams scored 91 goals with striker Shuntae Todd leading the league in goalscoring with 35, while her teammate Dominique Richardson scored 11 times, Lady Cougars player Jessica Furtado scored 10 times in the league.
St. David’s were crowned 2009/10 Bermuda Football Association’s First Division Champions, with 49 points from their twenty games, while St. George’s Colts finishing second place two points back, Robin Hood finished in third place with 42 points . Jahron Dickinson from St. George’s Colts won the Division scoring title with 22 goals, while Kevin Ronaldson from MR. Onion's and Otis Minors from St. David’s hit the net 19 times and Ricky Saltus from X’Road’s scored 18 times.
The Dandy Town Hornets won the 2009/10 Bermuda Football Association’s Premier Division Champions having accumulated 40 points, while the North Village Rams finished second with 39 points, PHC Zebras finished in third place with 31 points. Nahki Wells from the Dandy Town Hornets won the goal scoring title with 20 goals, while North Village Rams striker Jason Lee scored 12 times. Ralph Bean Jr. from the North Village Rams and Raymond Beach from the Dandy Town Hornets scored 11 goals and Angelo Simmons from the Boulevard Blazers found the net 10 times.
The Lady Cougars got the season underway with a 3 – 1 penalty shootout win over the Lady Rams to raise the Women’s Charity Cup and then the Boulevard Blazers had a 1 – 0 win over the Devonshire Cougars to win the Charity Cup. The North Village Rams defeated the PHC Zebras on Penalty Kicks to win the Dudley Eve Title, The North Village Rams also won the Friendship Trophy with a 3 – 2 extra time win over the Southampton Rangers. St. George’s Colts won the Shield Competition defeating Prospect United 2 – 0, Dandy Town Hornets won the Martonmere Cup on penalty kicks over the Boulevard Blazers, the won the Women’s FA Cup with a 6 – 0 win over the Dandy Stars and the Devonshire Cougars won the FA Challenge Cup win a 5 – 3 penalty shootout win over the Somerset Eagles after the teams finished 2 – 2 after extra time.
