SENIOR SCHOOL BASKETBALL
The Warwick Academy Senior Boys Basketball team who coached by alumnus Steven Simons and his brother Jason defeated Saltus 50 - 28.
In a game where the tempo was incredible, the commitment was inspiring proved that it was going to be Warwick Academy’s night.
Birthday boy Robele Baker having arguably his best game ever in a Warwick Academy uniform scoring 9 points from three long range shots, while dribbling powerfully to the hoop and also grabbing several rebounds.
Eron Woods’ long arms, quick reflexes and incredible jumping ability earned him many steals, many shots and many rebounds. He had 8 points on the night, while Juron Tucker's never say die attitude and incredible energy saw him only score 4 points, but he caused Saltus to turn the ball over many times with his hustle.
Kiwon Williams also had a phenominal night and led all scorers with 11 points. He was tough, while Joshua Malpas started slowly, but he is known for solid outside shooting and added 4 points.
Tevis Spence finished with 8 points and not to be outdone, fast improving and very young Conner Custodio was another player who really stepped up and looked very confident playing next to much older boys scoring 6 points.
MIDDLE SCHOOL BASKETBALL
Warwick Academy Middle School Boys hosted MSA, with the home team coming away with a 31 – 7 win.
Delray Rawlins led the Warwick team as the starting point guard with his vision and passing ability, along with the experienced Raushon Tankard. Also leading the Warwick Academy team are the fast improving Ajani Tucker and Arriek Douglas.
Tucker scored 5 points, while Douglas dominated by scoring an impressive 12 points. Others who got on the score sheet were: Jeremiah Andrade with 2 points, Tankard with 2 points, Rawlins scored 4 points, Matthew Bacon added 2 points and Tez Terry scored 4 points. Other Warwick Academy players that stood out included Keevon Minors, Sam Ponte, Stefan Wilson and Omari Tucker.
